about Burnpile
Burnpile is an all-encompassing platform. Currently, we have been focusing on hosting low-pressure and casual social events centered around craft making. Located in Milwaukee, WI and hosted by me, Haley Swenson, a Wisconsin-based film photographer, artist, and Art History student at UW-Milwaukee. Burnpile is currently a schedule-free event curator, essentially hosting events whenever I can make it work. However, I dream of expanding Burnpile beyond casual social events with distant plans of art-related content making, selling art-related materials including clothing and home pieces I like to create, and an even more distant potential curation of a physical public studio space for selling, events, classes, and galleries. For now, I’m excited to continue to host low-commitment events out of the comfort of my home and community spaces around Wisconsin. My deep love of crafts and artmaking in every form has pushed me to be extremely passionate about providing a space for artists to connect and push art to a central focus of my life and future career.
